The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has recently declared the results of Class 10th examinations. The results are based on the revised assessment scheme that was implemented due to the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The results have been released for all the regions.

The CBSE Class 10th results were released on 29 July 2020. The results can be accessed online on the official website of the CBSE. The students who have appeared for the examinations can check their results by entering their roll number and date of birth. The results can also be accessed via SMS or IVRS. The pass percentage for the exam is 88.78%.

Exam Analysis and Student Performance

The CBSE Class 10th examination was conducted from 15 February to 20 March 2020. The examination was disrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the CBSE had to implement the revised assessment scheme. The assessment scheme was based on the internal assessment, practical exams and the previous year’s performance of the students.

The overall performance of the students this year is satisfactory. The pass percentage has increased by 2.38% compared to last year. The girls have outperformed the boys with a pass percentage of 92.45%. The overall pass percentage of boys is 86.19%.

According to the statistics, about 79.4% of the total registered candidates have secured their successful results. A report from the board outlines that girls outshined the boys in this temperature of exam by grabbing 87.3% passing percentage, while the boys had a total passing percentage of 75.3%.

The overall pass percentage of CBSE class 10th students is believed to be lower compared to the last year, which has decreased by 0.36%.

In other news, the board has also decided to give special grace marks to the students of class 10th in English and Maths. This decision was taken by the board after noticing that the question papers of English and Maths put a comparatively higher threshold for the students.

They further thought that to be fair to the students and not to put any undue pressure on them due to the difficulty level of the question papers, they should be given the special grace marks to pass the exam. This initiative from CBSE has surely helped a lot of students get an extra push and pass the examination successfully.
